In the graphs above, the frequency response and impedance responses are shown. When connected to Audiofrog tweeters, the TP-50V2 will provide about 15dB of attenuation at low frequencies with no effect above your electronic crossover. No TP-50V2 is required when using a passive tweeter crossover.

The TP-50V2 is intended to protect your tweeters from electronic component failure, DSP software glitches or failures and from erroneous crossover settings. The TP-50V2 will remove low frequency content from the signal and is only active below the crossover you implement in the DSP or the amplifier.

The TP-50V2 will not protect against too much power above the crossover caused by bad gain setting procedure, an amplifier that’s way too powerful or by clipping in a component in the signal chain. The TP-50 will not cause “phase issues” with the crossover because it is only active below the crossover frequency.

The TP-50V2 should be connected in between your amplifier and your tweeter. Connect the input + and – to your amplifier’s output + and – terminals. Slide the included heat shrink tubing over the TP-50V2 and the input wires. Connect the TP-50V2’s output + and – to your tweeter’s + and – terminals. Slide the heat shrink tubing over the TP-50V2 making sure that it covers the terminals and shrink the tube with a heat gun.

The TP-50 is suitable for use with all Audiofrog tweeters. The TP-50 is not necessary when passive crossovers are used.
